CAPA Ambassador Program

Who Can Apply for the Ambassador Program?

You must be a current undergraduate student enrolled in a US-based institution* following a term abroad with CAPA. Some of the qualities that make a successful Ambassador include:

• Enthusiasm and passion for study abroad and your CAPA Global City
• Confidence to speak in front of groups and to approach new people
• Strong time management skills, dedication, and the ability to meet deadlines
• Creativity, especially for writing engaging posts, putting together events, or finding new ways to connect with people
• Openness to technology and willingness to learn more about outreach strategies

To help prepare you, there will be a mandatory on-line training session with CAPA staff.

*Per institution’s policies, students enrolled at University of Pittsburgh, University of Minnesota, Purdue University, University of Colorado Boulder, Indiana University, and Saint Mary's College of Indiana are not allowed to participate in the Ambassador program.

Ambassador Activities

As a CAPA Ambassador, you play a critical role in building support and advocacy for study abroad and our programs through select outreach activities. This may include:

• Campus study abroad or activity fairs
• Information sessions with student groups or residence halls
• Classroom presentations
• Reviews on study abroad websites and search engines
• Guest posts for the CAPA World Blog
• Tabling in your student union
• Producing YouTube videos
• Interacting with CAPA's social media accounts
• And more! We encourage creativity in seeking out new opportunities to reach interested students.
